A compilation of research, vision and recent works by the Yamuna River Project over the past four years.
A catalog of projects, research and strategies exhibited jointly by the Delhi Jal Board and the Yamuna River Prioject at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, from March 29 to April 8, 2017.
The diversity of topics of the University of Virginia's research studio curriculum reflects the intellectual diversity of the Department of Architecture. Research projects take on urgent international crises such as the changing condition of the Arctic, neglected cultural landscapes in depressed regions, or one of the most pressing urban ecologies challenge in the world (Delhi and its sacred and poisonous Yamuna River). Others work within local conditions, disciplinary inquiries or philosophical and spatial investigations.
The second iteration of the Delhi Research Studio builds on the research initiated in Spring 2014, with a continued focus on urban design strategic planning and interventions.
The first phase of the project will challenge you to study, understand, and analyze not only the city of Delhi and out particular site, but also the responses, development, and systems of sites and cities with similar situations to that of the Yamuna riverfront.
